Jonathan Begashaw, a 13-year-old learner at St Andrews school who was earlier this week reported missing was later found by his parents at a lodge in Sandton, Gauteng safe and sound and police have since closed the missing person file.
On Tuesday, his parents dropped him off at school in Welkom as usual before 9 am but later the mother Lilian Begashaw received a call from school that the teenager had left the school premises.
Apparently, he went back home to fetch his cellphone, his tablet and clothing before leaving home with unknown mode of transport. It is understood he informed some people that he wants to proceed with a career in music industry in Gauteng Province.
The mother then registered a case for police to file for a missing person. A manhunt was launched to look for the child who had last been seen wearing a white jean trouser, a white golf t-shirt, a maroon track top and Jordan takkie shoes.
