Public Eye is an independent free sheet provincial newspaper launched in 2007 as the voice of Free State to cater especially for the emerging black market. It publishes local news and advertising in English, which it gathers and distributes in all towns of the province every Friday of the week. The paper is published by a private company, Thabure Media Group (TMG), as one of its business units brands. Public Eye is independent and it is neither influenced by a particular political, religious ideology nor a particular economic power.

Our Mission is to advocate for Free State’s economic competitiveness.

Our Vision is to be the impartial, trusted voice in raising awareness of Free State issues. In our reporting, we take into consideration the fact that farming, mining, tourism and logistics are the economic drivers of Free State economy.

Editorial Policy: Public Eye subscribes to the South Africa Press Code that prescribes news that is truthful, accurate, fair and balanced.

Distribution: Public Eye is distributed free to all towns of the Free State province every Friday.

Circulation: The circulation of Public Eye is the minimum of 10 000 copies every week, which is increased from time to time on special occasions.

Subscription: The subscription for Public Eye is free. If you would like to receive a copy or some copies at your home, your shop or any public place, please let us know so that we can include you in our mailing list free of charge. Our aim is to be highly visible and easily accessible to the public.

Advertising: As a local newspaper, we serve as a shopper’s guide and we offer small businesses owners and local authorities a wide range of advertising options to the masses that can fit nearly any budget. Public Eye copies are mailed and distributed to people on mailing lists and are also available in libraries, grocery stores, local shops, restaurants, petrol filling stations, public service offices and other locations willing to provide a spot where people can grab one and go r sit to peruse.
