Bloemfontein Celtic FC players refused to train on Tuesday morning asking the team captain and goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb to be reinstated.

After his contract was terminated with immediate effect on Monday evening, this came after Paddy confronted the management of the club about the palyers bonuses, the meeting between the two parties did not end well as they exchanged words and the management felt that led to Paddy’s contract being terminated, they felt he was out of line.

The players went to the training grounds and but sat on the parking area refusing to train until Patrick TIgnyemb is brought back to the club.

The Bloemfontein Celtic supporters also gathered at the stadium and were demanding answers from management which were not at the stadium, but drove to Siwelele Park.

They met with the team’s Managing Director Mr Rali Ramabodu who said ” we acknowledge your presence and we also appreciate support and the love for the club, the chairman will meet with Patrick today and we will give you all the details after the meeting, unfortunately i cannot go into details as we have not yet discussed the incident that happened between Tignyemb and management”.

The problem with our management is that they do not discuss everything with us and as a team captain i have a right to ask them about the players’ concerns as i’m their leader, i sacrificed a lot for this team i have been with this team for eleven years, i don’t like being treated like nobody i deserve to be respected like any other player and i have personal problems at home but i decided to put them on hold and focus on this team, but i will not allow my fellow teammates to be disrespected said Patrick Tignyemb.

The supporters chairperson Mabena Pule said ” We heard that Tignyemb had a meeting with the club’s chairman Max Tshabalala before he could meet with the club CEO regarding the players’ bonuses and later had a meeting with the CEO which did not end well as Paddy said that he was told that he is the one influencing other players with his behavior, after Paddy’s contract termination all players got a letter stating that if they do not show up at the training they will be defying their contract that have signed with the club and drastic decisions will be taken against them and two of them were not being paid their salaries month end and also facing serious fines.

Further details about Bloemfontein Celtic will be discussed on Sunday 12 May 2019 at the supporters general meeting which will be called by the management.
